Career advice-please help

Background: I am a tech exams lurker. Been lurking in the shadows for about 6 months. Decided to get a membership recently. 
I work in a Engineering Lab for an Aerospace Company. In a couple of weeks, I will have been there for 14 years. In the last few years, I have went back to school and got my associates in general studies/liberal arts. I transferred to Fort Hays State University on a 2+2 degree plan. (in IT and telecommunications)
Present: I decided to do one more semester at FHSU, and then go to WGU for a Bachelors in IT-Security. Since FHSU had already did financial aid with me, WGU said it would take a month or two for FHSU to release the funds to be used by someone else. So I will start WGU in January.
The plan: I have been studying for my MCSA 2008/2012 cert. Then I will transfer that into WGU.
I have been looking around for IT jobs near me, and had one interview. They emailed me this morning and told me they are going with other candidates.
My resume for crtique as well.
I would like to get into DB Admin or Security or both.
