Question about after an interview

JamesRFJamesRF Member Posts: 45 ■■□□□□□□□□
I had a job interview at a casino 2 weeks ago and thought I did very well. He seemed to like my answers and it was a very positive interview.

The interview was 2 weeks ago.

How much following up is too much? I hate waiting to hear back from companies and become very eager. How do you handle this? Its a great opportunity and a bump up in pay compared to my current role so I'm very hopeful.

Reach out for a status update. Email or call should be fine.

I have called a few times and got "well it looks like you are still a candidate". How much followup is too much?

If you've already followed up a few times then I'd just assume you didn't get it and move on.

This... there is a little discrepancy about how long do you wait to move forward after an interview to pursuing other positions, usually it's between immediately and 24 hours. Keeps you in the hunt, and your mind off wondering... plus when you have multiple jobs lined up you can leverage better, and press decisions faster.

I would personally follow up once a week until i got a response. If you dont hear back after reaching out twice then i would probably assume i didnt get the position.

But either way, i would never let that stop me from applying to new positions. I continue to apply until i have accepted a new role.
