Getting a desktop support job??

Are most desktop support jobs given to people who are already in the company or interns or people that they know already? If someone has experience and certs should it be easy to get a desktop support jobs or will the "inners" always get those spots first? Do they always favor those even if they find someone else who has more experience? Thanks for you help!

If I am going to hire someone I will usually gravitate towards anyone that has a personal recommendation.
Employers and bosses often dread job searches just as much as employees. So if there is an easy out they often take it.

Now consider that not ever human is the same. Not every company is the same. Not every position has someone recommended for it.

Opportunity is always going to be available somewhere. You will have to put the work in to find it.
