Intel Core 2 Duo E7300 or Intel Xeon E3110?

Hi there people.

I have a Dell Optiplex 760 SFF. I was looking at a bunch of CPUs laying around so I could replace my Intel Core 2 Duo E7300. Most of the CPUs I found were either Celeron or Core 2 Duo, but I found a Dual Core Xeon, I stuck it in the PC and it worked! I was Amazed! because it said on the spec sheet for Dell, the PC can go up to a Quad Core.

I was just wondering, Is the Xeon better than the CPU I just replaced or do they perform the same?

Intel Core 2 Duo E7300 vs Xeon E3110

The 3110 is essentially the same CPU as the Duo Core E8400 cpu, the bus speed is faster on the Xeon, than the E7300, that said, in real world exercise, I doubt you will see much difference in these two cpu's. The Xeon is a entry level server cpu, which is supposed to be more durable than the consumer level cpu, such as the E-series cpu, in the real world, nobody really knows, I have owned both series and never seen much difference in either durability or performance.
