Negotiating a job title

Anyone have any success doing this? I am about to take this position with a small company and they seem to be flexible on the title. The job is listed as a business analyst but there is more to the position than just requirements and analysis. There is design work both architecture physical and logical and other components that stretch it outside your normal BA role. The position is more in-line with a solutions position, but I feel solutions architect might be a tad too strong.

I know titles can mean very little, but if they are being flexible (potentially) it would be silly for me not to go for the elevated title. IMO

I may ask for the solutions title, but I am just not sure yet. Any ideas of a title?

I possess a lot of stakeholder management experience along with a lot of the business sides of the role, but wouldn't consider myself a technology junky.

So in short I feel I am a little light on the technology component but intermediate to high on the business engagement piece. Basically explaining software and hardware solutions to upper management, which is general business centric and focused. This includes intergrating for software development efforts and hardware infrastructure efforts.

Sorry to ramble but my main concern is if another transition were to occur I would want to be labeled correctly for the role I am assuming. Not to mention I am not getting any younger and would like to eventually move up the food chain from project coordination roles and business analyst roles.
