Suggestions for network discovery software? (Particularly for network equipment)
ande0255
Hi,
I have to try to map out a customer network as I have no diagrams or even IP addressing schemes, and I'm trying to discover a what device an MPLS circuit is terminating on. The only two pieces of information I have is the outside interface public IP address, and a rough physical location of where the device is.
I have access to the domain controller that is at the location, which I have loaded a program called 'netscan' onto, which has found a ton of devices but none of them appear to be a network device (at least by their naming convention). It found a ton of devices across multiple subnets, but very few of the them have actual names, and this customer is known for having their gateways on odd IP address like .237 or .243.
I've tried doing both ssh and telnet to the outside IP, but cannot connect that way. Any suggestions to discover the inside interface IP from a DC on the internal network?
