How do you stay focused just on one piece of SQL training?

For me personally it seems that I am moving in and out of different SQL technologies and services. Sometimes I am having to build indexes on some of my views, other times I am just building aggregate reporting for managers etc. Sometimes I have to look at other elements and now I am working with integration services and data warehousing.

I just find it hard to complete a certification when your work has you moving all over the place. I am learning a ton, but it seems impossible to keep focused on one of the exam curriculum.

Oh pretty please tell me the answer when you find out lol.....am facing the exact same problem - just so may areas to 'SQL' it's becoming really difficult to focus on and master one.
