Sooo sick of it. It seems you cannot browse any website, professional or cheesy, download any game or app, cheap or expensive , have new cell / mobile / landline number daily without receiving any spam soon after.
I registered on domain and received about 60 spam mails on the first day.
Ever so often sites don't load because all that google adwords stuff in the background won't load. (Even google analytics on TE seems slowing things down sometimes).
I want the old days back, where you could browse the internet without being chased by 'yay you won' nonsense.

Well there is not a huge amount you can do about it since people are spending more time on the internet than watching TV than they used to. You being in the UK, are used to the BBC not having adverts but you still have to pay the TV license for that privilege. Now in Ireland you probably know since you lived here we pay TV license AND have adverts - go figure.
In my "Must have browser plugin" thread I got 2 great suggestions - AdBlock Plus & Ghostery. The first turns the adverts off and the second can turn off Google Adwords and the many other trackers off too - it works quite well I must say.
I pay very little attention to adverts most of the time, and I have a mate who mutes the TV when the adverts come on - paying as little attention to them as possible - I think it's the only way!
