FOA CFOT exam questions

Hello, I am new to the forum and would like some help as it seems there are a lot of qualified personnel on here. I searched for this but didn't come up with anything. I would like to take the Fiber Optic Association, Certified Fiber Optic Technician exam. I am looking to show potential employers that I have a broad knowledge of fiber optics and there applications. I have read the FOA exam prep materials and I have a few questions.

Has as anyone taken this exam?
Is it difficult?
Is the FOA a respected association in the fiber optic industry?
Any thoughts on other fiber optic certifications that provide a cert in broad knowledge?
