Password recovery for switch
-=zheka=-
Hi techies!
Has anybody come across a question on password recovery for a switch during CCNA exam. It seems weird but I found sample lab on cisco website but nothing heard about this question during exam. And the study material doesn't provide any elaboration on it.

This procedure will clear nvram. Switch 2600
1. Press the SysReq button on the switch (next to the Reset button). This will clear all configuration settings.
2. Move the arrow key to clear NVRAM.
3. Press Return.
The system reboots and no password is required

That's loud and clear! Thanks.
Still my question is the same. Are there these kind of question on the CCNA exam?

i don't think this type of question will on the exam. because password recovery procedure for every router (model) is different.
so i don't think you will get this question in the exam :0

I agree that the procedure for the switch is unlikely. Since brAun brought it up for routers, though, you will probably not need the procedure, but you better be able to recite config register settings in your sleep and know how to change it should password recovery be required.
