Went in thinking I was prepared and quickly realized I was far from it...very tricky wording on the questions.
Watched all the CBT Nugget videos.
Read the MS Ref book for the exam

2 months of almost daily study
3 years as a Network Admin
think I gonna read the Sybex Mastering Server book cover to cover before attempting again.
passed about ten others tests, this one was just brutal
got a 640 on it...

You must take the practice exercise in the MS ref book because these days Microsoft tests you on how proficient you are on working with Microsoft windows server 2012 R2 technology.

Hey man, keep your head up! Microsoft started increased the difficulty of their exams a few years ago.
Microsoft wants people to fail the exams because they think it will increase the value of the certifications. They have a team of psychologists that has absolutely no IT experience, dedicated to reconstructing the wording of each exam question to intentionally make it harder to answer questions correctly. (Interview with Liberty Munson about Microsoft exam development - Enduria). You can look up the lead psychologist on LinkedIn if you don't believe me or the article.
Hope this makes you feel better...its never a good feeling to fail a cert. -

640 is not a bad score on a Microsoft exam, it's not passing but remember, it's only 3 or 4 questions off. While going for my MCSE 2012, I failed twice, on 70-411 and 70-414, and I had 7 years of server administration and a year of working with Server 2012, I didn't get frustrated I just scheduled the exam a few weeks out and covered everything that I scored low on the score report. That report is very useful in letting you know what you need improvement on.2020 Goals

Dont worry man, I got 680 0n my first 70-410 test,three days later went back and got 815.Dont give up
