CSR 1000V vs GNS3 vs IOU

Hi guys,

I have plans in the future to start studying for my CCIE.I have seen people mention CSR 1000V on this forum, and from what I have looked up online it seems like it's just a VM host which you install this CSR image on, and you have 1 router per VM.

My questions:

How do you connect multiple hosts together within VMware?
How do you add different interface modules and links to each router?
How is CSR any different to GNS3 apart from the VMWare part?
What about the difference between CSR and IOU?
Can you do some switching stuff on CSR?
