Security Issue

Hi, Good Day Everyone,

How can I secure my laptop running Windows 7 from the other computers in our network, We are 3 In the room with my two roommates, They are network expert, so I am afraid that maybe they might hack or whatever its in my laptop using the wireless network that we are sharing.

Trust your schools network engineer, the only thing you could do is harden your system. but network wise you can use a third party firewall or use the firewall that Microsoft gives you, make sure you don't allow network share, and have a password on the laptop. Also make sure there are no other users enabled on the account without a password, make sure there are no directories open share or able to view over the internal network, but that should be fine once you turn off network share in the network configurations.

If you're concerned if someone is looking at your traffic use the browser Tor as it encrypts the traffic.
