Do we need to remember the CPU speeds and pins or just the sockets?

Well the pins for the Intel compatible sockets are found through their names... like Socket 755, Socket 1366 etc... now for the AMD a good reference is the first socket which has 940 pins, the rest have similar number of pins. The CPU speeds remember are found by multiplying the clock speed by their multiplier. Personally, I would lose my mind if they had me remembering all the CPU speeds.... usually desktop speeds are higher on desktops compared to laptops... while when comparing a newer CPU with an old one results with an obvious answer. I doubt they will be asking you to compare an i7 with a Pentium 2 though. Anyone know for certain the answer?
