Steps in the security management life cycle etc.....

I have been quizzing and reviewing answers nightly. In a majority of questions that ask for what phase, or what is the next step, or what is the first step, I seem to get stumped. I look to my text book(s) to find the steps in the security managemnt life cycle, DRP, software, etc.. but cant find a page or study aid that simply lists step 1 through X for various life cycles.

Any advice or tips are apprciated as always.
