I am trying to spend as little money as I can on my certifications before WGU. I was going to do A+ but that is $370... anyone get in with a CIW Web foundations Associate 1D0-610? I have seen that is counts for the WFV1 IT Fundamentals course so that would at least get knocked out.

You are correct. The CIW is cheaper, single exam, and easy to study for and pass. Go that route. As long as the Web Foundations cert is part of the curriculum for whatever degree concentration you choose, it will transfer.

I am going for Software Development but the CIW nor the A+ are listed on the page as being included in the program. However, I was told by my EC that the A+ would gain my acceptance into the program and knock out C393 and C394. The certs for the SD program are:
    • CompTIA Network+
    • CompTIA Security+
    • CompTIA Project+
    • Oracle Certified Associate, Java SE 7 Programmer
    • Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE 7 Programmer

So, if I am understanding this correctly, I might have to pay for the A+ exam anyways?

If you don't earn the A+ certification, I would at least study the material. If it knocks out 6 credits for your program, then it may well be worth your time and effort.
