Job offer negotiation questions

Well I left an interview yesterday that included the branch chief being called in with no prior knowledge for an impromptu second interview. The project manager then said, "I think it's pretty clear we will be making you a job offer."
Like music from the heavens. Still waiting on the offer but my question is about negotiating. I am coming from active duty military work so things like health insurance are an extra cost now. Also there are tolls to the new job and there wasn't before. That being said, I'm afraid to push too much in fear of them retracting the offer.
This is my first civilian job in the networking field so I don't want to blow it. I'm looking at negotiating for another $5,000 per year or so depending on their offer. Health insurance and tolls alone add up to $5,000 per year. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

As far as negotiating goes you really need to wait and see what their offer is, you might not find yourself needing to negotiate. I recently landed a Civil Service position and expected a low-ball offer and was happily surprised to get the opposite without needing to negotiate.

I told them my requirements and the expression I got told me it wasn't an issue. But when I started thinking of those things I am thinking I might need a few thousand more. We will see. Thanks for the advice!
