So just left a meeting and it was mentioned that VMWare had a custom version of Tomcat and Apache optimised for their environment. Can someone point me to what they are calling this? Is this the Pivotal stuff or something else?

vCenter 5.1 uses "vFabric tc Server", a version of Apache Tomcat 7
