Thanks guys, if it comes up I'll state that I'm open to the market rate, but what if they ask what market rate is? Salary sites seem a lot higher and I don't know anyone working entry level help desk locally. If I did, I also feel asking someone you know how much they make is kind of a rude question.

Thank you all again. I am already employed making more than what they are starting off plus bonuses. I would like to get out of that range into $35,000+ annually base. Right now I think it is time. I can wait for a more advanced position to open up here or seek other opportunities. I am not getting any younger and I need a little bit more of a challenge. I'm not going anywhere unless it's worth my time or salary. I didn't ask about paying for certs because the school I am attending is already doing that. Also 1 interview down they are hiring for multiple positions also. 1 more interview to go. This next interview is ideal for me as for as what they are asking in job description and pay starting off. I just hope the hours are ideal and to have favor of course.

    Congratulations!

Was there anything you did to receive the higher salary?

I work on a 2nd level helpdesk for a Fortune 500. The pay is better than I anticipated, especially for the region. As a contractor, I made $14 an hour, but it went up after being hired as an employee. My experience is that there is a salary range based on experience and the possibility of performance based incentives or bonuses. The important thing is getting in the door and having the opportunity to apply for other positions internally or master your current role.

Not without adding 'in Las Vegas' to these type questions.

This position does appear to be in Las Vegas.

I had the interview for the Support Coordinator Position. I prepared for it and I think that helped me a lot. I think I did well. There could be a round 3 maybe. The interviewer was like really, really, really nice to meet you in the end. I hope that is a good sign. :)
