Crest Certified Professionals

Hi

Has anyone passed any Crest certifications. I would like to become crest certified, but don't just wont to dive in. I would like to make sure that I have a good foundation to take and pass the exam. I have a good background in network and network security, but lack any programming or Linux skills. I believe if I can get some foundation skill in Linux and a programming language possibly Python then this should give me a better grounding to take the crest certifications. Does anyone agree with this approach? For Linux I was going to study Comptia Linux+ and study the Vivek videos on security tube for python. Any thoughts? It would be good to hear from any Crest professionals too.
