Cisco 3550 Switch Damaged?

First of all Hi all.,
I like many others here, am trying to put a little lab together for studying for my CCNA and hopefully beyond. I recently bought a Cisco 3550 24 port Emi Switch from eBay relatively cheaply. When I got it I noticed that the metal grill around the ports looked a bit crude compared to my other 3550 (which is shiny chrome). The top's of the port grill's have 5 small rectangular 'tacks' visible to both grills.
I was wondering if the switch is damaged, missing something etc...I have seen a few more 3550's with the same grill design on eBay. Your valuable thoughts would be greatly appreciated in deciding to keep or return it.
