EV42TMAN's VMware VCP Journey

Good Morning Everyone,
I'm starting my VMware class for the VCP today. I guess you could call this the official start to the certification. I've been working for an MSP for the last 2 years and a part of that role is supporting VMware Environments. My question at this point is, for the people that have completed the certification and the Installing, Configuring, and Monitoring class what doesn't the class cover? VMware states that the class only covers 60% for what is on the test so i'm wondering what the other 40% is so I can prepare for that part of the exam. Also if there is any advise for this exam I'd be glad to hear it. Thank you.

Verities Member Posts: 1,162Scott Lowe's Mastering vSphere 5.5 is an excellent read, that will help you not only with the test material, but as a VMware admin. After looking over the blue print, focus on the areas where you're weakest in and/or where you have little to no experience with. For me it was vApps, vDS, and the web client.

kj0 Member Posts: 767The class I took mentioned 60% of vmware stuff, but it didn't go into 60% of detail.
Nick Marshall's Mastering vSphere 5.5 book is a great place to start, and then Pluralsight videos, especially on specifics like networking and the "What's NEw" videos. highly recommended. -
EV42TMAN Member Posts: 256Thank you for the suggestions, I got the exam scheduled for the 26th and I've been reading and labbing outside of class. All of that plus my work experience I hope I can knock this one out of the park.Current Certification Exam: ???
