Hi All,
I recently graduated from Brandeis University with a degree in Philosophy. I was accepted to and began to attend law school but have decided to work first - at least 3-5 years. My goal is to combine my interests in law and IT and specialize in matters of information security, compliance, and data privacy.
I want to use this period of my life to develop a technical background that will compliment my to-be legal education. So, I am wondering certificates would best help me get on track to a security related position. If I can pass network+ should I start with that and take security+ as well? I was thinking of going after CCENT and CEH after those.
But I am not sure when and which jobs would be appropriate. With those certs and a college degree, what kind of positions should I be looking into?
Thanks for your time and help!

If you have a decent IT base knowledge, go for CCNA and Security+.
If you're into Compliance and Data Privacy, I dont know why you would go for CEH. Maybe ECSA or their DRP certs? I would suggest the Associate CISSP cert and CISSP eventually. SANS got some cool stuff too. My knowledge of security is maybe a bit over sec+, so I'm limited on what I can recommend after Sec+meh
