Job market in NY area

I am currently living in UK at moment but my wife and I are looking into moving to New York to be close to her family. We both hold US passports. My current role is a 3rd line engineer dealing with virtualization/servers, storage, little bit of networking. What is the job market like in New York and commutable areas from Queens specifically? Thank you

You can get to a lot of places from Queens. You will have to have a work visa to get a job if you are not a US citizen. That can be very difficult to get.
