I am curious to know how BGP redirection mechanism works when your website is under DDoS attack and you're willing to take protection from an anti-DDoS service provider.
Step-by-step (maybe with configuration examples).

You'd peer with the likes of Prolexic / Akamai via GRE or in some cases they would install their own kit in your COLO and advertise more specific (/24) via them rather than your upstream provider. They soak up all traffic and cleanse it before sending it it you.
