How in depth do I need to know which type of cabling does what?
Im deciding on how much of my brain hard drive space I want to devote to memorizing which type of cabling does what and can go how long, etc. If it's only a few questions then I'd rather focus on other topics. Any advice?

Jamesweb Member Posts: 144As others have said, make some flashcards and go through them and follow the objectives but I will say something that helped me was I got darril Gibson's Network+ practice test questions that will test you well on the objectives. Good luck on the test.Currently working on CCENT/CCNA and CAPM

Codeman6669 Member Posts: 227just remember anything that is ethernet is 100 meters (328 feet) at its longest
10baseT = 10mbps so 1/2 your answer is in the name.
100baseT =100mpbs
Remember that MMF (multimode fiber) is shorter than single mode fiber (i think 200 meters but i can be wrong)
MMF typically uses LED's for the light source SMF (single mode fiber) uses lasers for light source.
Remember general connecter types,
Dont over stress on it. Find similarities with certain types. Then just memorize the once that dont fit in groups with the others. ( hope that makes since) Good Luck!
