Hey Guys,

I recently had a job interview for a help desk position at a company in my are. Part of the first interview was technical and part was about me personally done by the managers of the IT area for the company which is based off of a particular piece of software and I thought I did poorly but I was emailed back the next day asking to have another second interview and I was one of the final 2 candidates. This second interview is with 2 major shareholders of the company and was told I was to meet with both of them individually for the next series of interviews. I was wondering if anyone could give me any input on what this interview might entail and how it might be different from my first interview since it is with 2 different people. Any advice is appreciated!

Help desk techs meeting with shareholders?

If you're meeting with higher ups in the company, remember to be polite and professional.

I'm not trying to nitpick what you said, but always be polite and professional to EVERYONE. Receptionist, custodian, CEO, doesn't matter ..you never know how much clout someone has, no matter their position.

Example I was given today was a candidate that was disrespectful to the companies parking lot guard, who was a 70 year old man that everyone loved and had been there for years ..we all know that guy, good ole' Bob. Guard walked inside behind the candidate, went straight to the hiring managers office and told him what happened, interview was over before it even started.

Thanks for the replies guys, I'm just nervous if this round will be technically based or just about my customer service skills and if I'm a fit personally in the company. I feel I am able to talk very politely and professionally to people but stumbled on a few technical questions in my first interview so I hope its the latter.

You stumbled on technical questions in the first interview, yet got a second. That, in itself, should tell you where their priorities lie.
