Anybody here ever try and use an Ascend MAX 4000 or similar WAN access switch/router? It supports up to 4 PRI/T1, 40 BRI channels, or a combo of the two with full routing suport between a PRI and BRI channel. They seem to be going for under $100 regularly on Ebay.

Also a side question as my knowledge of carrier hardware is limited. The MAX 4000 for example has 4 WAN PRI ports. You can get 56k, v90, ISDN, etc add in cards for it but none of them have any ports on them. I know I am missing something simple here but how do you hook up a v90 or ISDN line if there is no plug?

You don't. Those cards are used to terminate incoming calls on the T1/PRI circuits.
