Sourcefire Exam Materials

Anyone have the low down on some legit exam materials for the 500-275 and 500-285 Cisco Sourcefire Exams? I have to take them both by April but struggle to find materials other than the User Guides.

The exam covers the Sourcefire course materials. Since they're now a part of Cisco, it looks like their education offerings have updated a bit.

Yeah, I've had the SSFIPS Class and will have the SSFAMP Class soon. Those classes barely scratch the surface. I'd love to see someone pass an exam after only taking the classes. Very frustrating. I've deployed three Sourcefire IPSs in the last 3 or 4 months, but that is different than being in exam mode. There is trivia to be memorized and I always use the OCG for that portion of my study.

Check out Cisco Gold Labs, I sat through the SourceFIRE offering last week. It was good. Go to Labs->Architecture->Security Curriculum->Scroll down to Sourcefire

When I took the SFCP (for 4.x), I thought it was pretty much based on what was covered in class as I passed the exam using mainly the courseware (and perhaps some work experience). This was some years ago though and I assume it's the equivalent of the SSFIPS class, but I don't imagine it to be all that different today. That said, this was an open book exam. Unsure whether that's still the case.
Like any class covering commercial vendor appliances, the material was mostly about configuring the solution and just a tad on maybe analysis.

Nice, I was actually just logging into the PEC to see what was there. The 500-285 and 500-275 are proctored exams at Pearson VUE so it won't be open book.

Perhaps now that Sourcefire is under the Cisco banner, the open-book format has been scrapped and aligned with a more traditional Cisco-styled exam format. The older exams were not proctored which made them less credible in my view.
