Best Switch for a SAN switchiing fabric
Hey guys,
I personally like HP Procurves for all my networks including SAN's but what model switches do you guys use for SAN's? - Nexus, 2960s, 3750X's, Dell N3048's, HP Procurves, etc.

Nexus 5548, it can do 10G FCoE and 8G FC. All those other switches you listed are 1G. MDS 9148 are also nice.A.A.S. in Networking Technologies

What kind of SAN? Are we talking high or low velocity? Is this mainly structured data, unstructured, or video/image. This will determine what you need. I mean think about it, some of the packets/frames you get could be huge and if you traditionally get large **** of data this could bottleneck a low throughput fabric. Additionally, you need to know if this is a batch or FIFO based SAN. What I mean by that is do you fill a buffer and **** or is it a constant stream of data. This effects the SAN as well.Read my blog @ www.buildingautomationmonthly.com
