I know it isn't a popular certification but it probably the oldest technical cert out there. An I have been thinking about going for it some time. Am I the only one, or has anyone every looked into it?

Are you talking about the Certified Electronics Technician cert by chance from the ETA. If you are, it is always good to have a background in basic electronics because it makes you a bit more flexible especially if you plan to go into telecommunications. Added to any of the certs here you can find yourself very marketable to some of the ISPs that do a lot of work using wireless media. I am to renew my certs though, but the understanding goes a long way. It gives you a start into more permanent certifications and programs out there as well. Hope this helps.
