Bright Cluster Manager and Hadoop.
Today using Bright Cluster Manager, I was able to put together a Hadoop Cluster. I actually built the head node and added the four compute nodes yesterday. I have no idea what this software cost. We cuurently use it on our Cray and I was able to build everything using Workstation 11.
We I downloaded the software, it asked me in addition to the Cluster Manager, what else did I was, I select Apache Hadoop. It all get bundled into an ISO, in my case pretty big, 5.2 gig. They supply you with scripts that are used once you get the head node up and in my case four compute nodes. We have someone who is using Cloudera version of Hadoop. but I haven't touched it. The guy who manages both the Hadoop cluster and the Cray is leaving, so I am trying to get up to speed.
