What is the 'desired' VCP cert I keep seeing in job postings?
unknown
I always keep an eye out on job boards to keep up with what employers are looking for and I keep seeing VCP cert desirable for networking roles but nothing specific like VCP-DCV, VCP-NV, etc. There are a few different tracks in VCP would anyone know or have an idea what skill the average employer is looking for?

Most employers I've seen asking for VCP are clearly either asking for VCP-DCV specifically, or based on the other requirements, they mean VCP-DCV, even if they don't know it. There are some exceptions, but that's still something of the standard, at this point. I expect more that specifically ask for VCP-NV as SDN continues to grow in the marketplace.

Yea thanks! That's what I figured but I did not want to assume.

You can always ask, but i've found job postings to generally be pretty vague in the certification section or down right incorrect. I've seen some reputable companies still asking for the MCITP: Enterprise Admin or MCSE before they actually reintroduced the new MCSE (meaning they actually meant MCSE 2003).
