Here is one more reason why get more certs

So I was contacted about a potential security opportunity and I got all excited. Employer then advised me there would be a "test" at their site. I'm like great, I'm all for it. This is a few weeks ago. So I brushed up my 'security' knowledge and skills and showed up for the test.
I was surprised this was a comprehensive test covering many many topics. This really got me thinking that cert and/or IT knowledge is like a toolbox, the more you have, the better. You never know when you will need it, such as when trying to find another job.
I didn't hear back from them for days and I'm like I probably did bad on the test. Luckily, they contacted me that I've proceeded to next stage!
If you have time/money, get more certs/skills. There's no loss.

I agree! But I'd say get more certs in the fields that you're interested to work in AND make it a point to back up those certs with experience. -

Yes this, please, otherwise you will end up like my coworker. Nice guy but has so many paper certs he could be his own printed novel. -
