Digital forensics, Incident response, what's the job like?

Just curious, what's a day to day job in digital forensics like? I found some jobs are just "digital forensic analyst" where you basically analyse hard drives and other evidence and then make a report, where other jobs where more general and include things like "incident response" and "malware analysis".

I'm little bit confused and I know very little about this area, I'd like to know more and see if it's something I might consider getting into in the future!

@Kalkan: I started a job in a SOC recently, so certs are in order started a masters degree as well, I'll post an update soon-ish.
