Silly question about subnetting
Jasiono
I got this as my network address:
10.0.0.0/8
I need 1000 subnets
I do all the math, yada yada, and come to the conclusion that this is my new subnet:
255.255.192.0
or /18, if you will
Now, my range of addressed is the following:
10.0.0.0 - 10.0.63.255
10.0.64.0 - 10.0.127.255
10.0.128.0 - 10.0.191.255
10.0.192.0 - 10.0.255.255
and so on
am I correct? If so, continue
Is the next number in my network list:
10.1.0.0 - 10.1.63.255 ?
I would start to increment the second byte by 1, correct? Just as you carry the 1 when adding numbers that equal to 10?
This is the only way I would see 1k networks to be attainable.
