NAT Question

I am really confused.
I've attached pic to the thread. I configured PAT on the left and static NAT on the right.
What confuses me is when I ping Web Server's outside local address from Host A or Host B's inside local address, it fails with the message "time out", but when I do vice versa, that is, when I ping Host A or Host B's outside local address from Web Server's inside local address, it succeeds. But why? As for as I know, NAT is NAT, no matter it is PAT or Static.
I thought if the destination host is behind NAT then I wouldn't get a successful response in any way.

What does your output look like? show ip nat translation - ?
