SO im having a little issue getting the Dr/BDR election correct.
To me R3 is the BDR for segment A. But the quiz tells me R2 is BDR for segment a.
I dont get it.
So how i figured this out:
1. R1 is the DR because it has the highest priority
2. Now i find BDR. So thats R3 or R2. Same priority. R3 has a RID and R2 does not. Dosnt that make R3 the BDR??
Help please :-/

networker050184 Mod Posts: 11,962 ModOk first off how does a router determine a router ID for OSPF? Secondly how does it do an election for DR/BDR? Answer those two and I think you'll have your answer. An expert is a man who has made all the mistakes which can be made.

thanx..i guess..
I got the answer i wanted else where. I understand the process, i just thought that if a RID was manually configured it would be the DR if the other router dosnt have a RID configured. oh well i got it now
