What are the best guides for these two exams? What is everyone using?

    I used the official MS Press self-paced training kits:
    70-640 MS Press Store
    70-642 MS Press Store

    Although I've linked to the store (because they're easy to find on there) the books have been out for quite a while, you'll almost certainly be able to pick them up considerably cheaper second hand. I think I paid £12 on ebay for one of mine.

    As pandiculator says, the official guides are probably best and can be obtained cheaply through ebay. Be warned though, they are pretty boring books. Best to make some labs and check out some videos too.
