Hi experts,
I have make a Windows 7 VM and it natted it in the VMware workstation I am getting the correct Private IP and also able to ping the 8.8.8.8 but not able to resolve the name google.com . I have statically assigned the dns server address in the VM to open DNS but still no luck, I also tried to put the dns sever to automatic but still not able to resolve the names in the nslookup i am getting the dns servers but not able to resolve the names.
Any suggestions...???

I might just barking up the wrong tree of course. My own knowledge base made public: http://open902.com -

Deathmage Banned Posts: 2,496Could just google it. But there is a firewall setting that has to be altered. Also make sure the VM's firewall is turned off that could block port 53 for DNS.
Do a process of elimination, if your PC that has workstation can acquire DNS then the issue is at the application layer or within Workstation. Only look within Workstation, tinker around; you'll figure it out sooner or later.
But I know it seems primitive, but if your still stumped just google it, I'm sure someone one else has had the same problem.
Here is some articles that were googled pretty quickly:
