So I am looking for an idea for a nice but practical raspberry pi project. I was thinking about a AP and web server combo. But what are some of your genius ideas? Also, what is the coolest project you have made with your own raspberry pi?

He used IR signals and other ideas that were beyond the comprehension of my brain. And so you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further. With your mind power, your determination, your instinct, and the experience as well, you can fly very high. ~Ayrton Senna

I have a pretty beefy laptop and plan on getting pretty deep into cloud computing (Linode/AWS) as well as learning Python. For the most part, I'd just have a bunch of terminal windows open w/ the odd video here and there. Anything more computing intensive, I could simply hop on my laptop.
I might get another one to use as a media center device.
I might find more interesting uses later on, but for now that's all I'd want to use it for.Goals for 2018:
Certs: RHCSA, LFCS: Ubuntu, CNCF CKA, CNCF CKAD | AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Solutions Architect Pro, AWS Certified Security Specialist, GCP Professional Cloud Architect
Learn: Terraform, Kubernetes, Prometheus & Golang | Improve: Docker, Python Programming
To-do | In Progress | Completed -

I made a 3 axis laser spirograph. uses PWM to control the speed of the three motors and open collector driver to switch the laser. I also have a laser scanner module from an old printer that makes a great laser floor effect. All i need to do it put it all in a nice box and not stuck togather with tape as it is now.- If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough. Albert Einstein
