Scope and Progression in MIS

Hello
I have completed my MBA (Majors: Finance; Minor: Marketing). I applied to MIS and I have been accepted as a student by the School in USA. Now, preparing for my visa.I am excited to join the program. At the same time, a little nervous, since I am over 30's.
I had few questions.
I wish to know whether there are any good scope if I continue with the Program?
Secondly, can I connect with accounting field?
Is it better to become a programmer or design and consult would be preferable?
