i jus got my cnna and want to go for ccvp but i need to know two things

1.) would it help in anyway to do ccdp or ccnp first?
2.) in what order should i do the exams?(i guess this question can go for the two above as well)

    Hum...... probably.

I think its a good idea to work from more general to more specific.... and the CCVP cert has a lot of stuff that is only good for the CCVP.

I think the CCNP builds upon the CCNA base -- then the CCSP or CCVP build on that and get more specific. Once you can administer and build the network (and secure it and add enhanced IP Services to it), then you might be ready to design networks.

But if you have job opportunities in your area, there is no reason not to go directly to the CCVP (or some of the CQSs) -- and then go for the CCNP.

thanx, my boss wants me to do a CIPT specialist cert but im so lost and i figure i would go to ccvp instead of sticking to one thing, so i guess i might have to do both at the same time ccnp and the specialist cert that is.

You could always start with the Cisco IP Telephony Support Specialist -- requires CCNP, icon_eek.gif QOS, CVOICE, and CIPT. Then you could fill in with GWGK and IPTT for the CCVP. icon_cool.gif

I haven't figured out the Cisco IP Telephony Operations Specialist -- CCNA, QOS, and IPTT. Troubleshooting? If you haven't learned the other stuff, how can you troubleshoot it? icon_confused.gif Unless you're just troubleshooting QoS?

I'm still trying to sort out the recommended books with the exams. I'm doing the CCIP first, so QOS will be the first exam I take. I had decided to study for the CVOICE exam, since that seemed useful for the CCDP -- so that will be #2.

I still think Troubleshooting should be last -- so that leaves CIPT at #3 and GWGK at #4..... but this is where we need a CCVP to jump in and confirm or deny my theory of the test order. QOS could make more sense being pushed back for a non-CCNP.

After the CCVP, I guess I'd follow up with the IPTD exam, which along with the CCDA & QOS, would also give me the IP Telephony Design Specialist.
