I am considering taking the SSFIPS exam as part of my cisco security and can barely find any information on training apart from training courses.

Are there any training materials published and how many questions could I expect in the exam?

I don't know how it is now, but Sourcefire's exam was pretty much based on the training materials which you're not going to find anywhere except from taking a Sourcefire class. If you can get your hands on an admin guide, that will be a good read (they're 1000+ pages).

Cisco Press has always been a bit slow in publishing books for the security-related exams.
