EVC Mode: Deploying vROPS when in a EVC cluster

So today I found an annoying situation.
At work we deploy a EVC cluster since one server has a previous generation Xeon and lately were been having a performance issue so I wanted to deploy vCOPS to see if it could see statistics I simple can't calculate it all in my head.
But when you do that it doesn't allow you to make a vCOPS vApp cluster. So I literally had to cram up one host to 98% cpacaity on memory with vMotion, place the other host in Maintenance mode, move it our of the EVC cluster and then deploy the vApp for vROPS and then re-add that host to the EVC cluster....
I got it working without users seeing it, but dam that made me really think...
Has anyone else had this issue before?

that article is pretty much what I had to do. -
