Passed ICND1 today

Hey all,

After a few months of studying, I made it through ICND1!

Operation of IP Data Networks - 100%
LAN Switching Technologies - 82%
IP addressing IPv4 and IPv6 - 100%
IP Routing Technologies - 71%
IP Services - 75%
Network Device Security - 38% (OUCH LOL)
Troubleshooting - 100%

Total Score - 841 (804 to pass)

Needless to say, device security tore me up from the floor up!

Some helpful tips:

-Know every show command! If you get a bit forgetful, help commands do work!
-Know to how to subnet, and QUICKLY! I finished with 30 minutes left because I breezed through all the subnetting questions so swiftly.
-Lab! The killer for most people is that they run out of time because they spend too much time on the labs. Get good at labbing so you can get through it faster!

Now, off to studying for ICND2!

Was there any RIP on the exam?
I read that Cisco dropped it from the Exam (in the 2013 update).... but i'd like to confirm from people who have taken it.

    thank you!

There is no RIP on the ICND1 exam. That was for the 640-816 exam. 100-101 has more single area OSPF and Cisco IOS basics like subnetting, NAT, static routes etc. Look at the exam objectives to find out more.

    Thanks kFlash!
    :]

    Question:
What percent of the CCENT is actual "labbing"?

I had assumed it was well OVER 50% of the exam.
But after just reading another thread.... it sounds like most of the exam is actually 'Multiple Choice' questions?
    (kind of surprised / disappointed)

Yeah, well I read so much about people struggling with the time that I made sure I didnt spend too long on a question. But, as you can see, that approach seemed to cost me in the score department.

    @bub9001

I read Todd Lammle's book and did every question in lab in it. I also practiced subnetting like crazy on subnetting.net (I think?). With labbing, I mostly practiced the concepts (creating VLANs, configuring security on devices, troubleshooting OSPF problems) and didnt do any complex labbing.

Did you use Todd Lammles subnetting method or something else? Thanks
