Probably a silly question...

Are AD groups case sensitive? More specifically, if I change "TESTGROUP1" to "TestGroup1" or vice versa, will it result in loss of access in any way? I have inherited a division at my company that has a ton of AD groups that share a basic naming scheme but are not uniform. It makes looking through these groups a pain in the ass. I want to change it but I don't need to if it would cause problems.
Also, does anyone have a recommendation on an AD tool other than the stock Active Directory Users and Computers MMC?
Thanks!

I use scripts (VB and PowerShell) to perform changes en-mass, dsquery is the standard set of tools to use from the command line if you like to go that route. I also use another tool called AD Tidy which is helpful at times. Cjwdev | AD Tidy
