can anyone explain redundcy in simple terms

    redundancy means having one (or more extra) for occasions when the first one may fail.

    you could say examples would be having two eyes, ears, lungs, etc. would equate to various forms of raid arrays where there are two or more hard drives each haveing data saved to them that will allow work to carry on as normal when one fails.
