Jobs you can get with a CCDA?

I recently passed my CCT R&S, and I will take a break for a few weeks before starting on my CCNA 2 part training then exam. I have been wondering about CCNA level jobs. I was thinking of getting CCNA R&S then possibly CCNA Data Center. But what about design jobs from a CCDA?
As I understand it, the CCDA and its training should prepare you for jobs designing networks, right? But surely the setup and maintenance side is much more steady work than design. How often does someone have to design a data center or add on to it?
I had gone to an interview about 2 months ago for a job with a company who took care of networks for their customers, instead of the customers having their own IT departments. Part of what they did was design networks. I did ok in the interview until they started asking how much time I have working with Windows Server 2008 and 2012 (zero experience, no servers in my apartment), and things went downhill from there.
So what sorts of companies specialize in just designing data centers and networks, or do I have the wrong impression of what a CCDA job is all about?
