FIU Masters in Computer Engineering: Network Security?

I received a phone call from FIU about a Masters Degree program in FIU Masters Computer Engineering: Network Security, and was wondering if any of you members here ever attended or had an experience with this program or the school itself?

Please share your opinion.

It sounds interesting and you can complete it in 10 months, but it's 25K upfront.

It seems that it's for each semester and not $25k directly upfront.

Just got off the phone with them and it's basically $10k per semester and then $5k on your summer semester up front at the start of each semester.

You also have to have been currently working in IT or Information Security prior to starting the program.

From what the content alone, it sounds awesome and I may have to enroll. Only problem is I missed the fall semester.

Looks overrated, looking at the courses doesn't look like you'll actually learn to "DO" much, but you'll get some general network and security theory.

If this is a major selling point, then you should have alarms ringing in your ear to stay away and save your money. Unless all you really want is FIU on your resume.

"You'll also be prepared to acquire the most in-demand professional certifications, including Network+, Security+, and Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)."

Do you know of an institution that has a Masters/Graduates program that doesn't have more theory than "hands on"? Because I know none...
